Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Safar ("we", "us", "our"), operator of www.safarscents.in, collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit our website, purchase our products or interact with our advertising. It is published in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.
1. Information we collect
- Identity & contact data — your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, and PIN code, provided when you place an order or write to us.
- Order data — products purchased, order value, delivery status, returns and your correspondence with our care team.
- Payment data — collected and processed by our secure payment partners (such as Razorpay) directly on their systems. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or banking credentials.
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referral source and on-site interactions, collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
2. Cookies, pixels & advertising technologies
We use cookies and tracking pixels to run, measure and improve our advertising. Specifically, this website loads:
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — to measure the performance of our ads on Facebook and Instagram, build advertising audiences and show you relevant Safar ads;
- Google Ads tag and Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — to measure conversions from Google ads, understand how the site is used and enable remarketing.
These partners may set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, such as the pages you viewed and purchases you made. You can control ad personalisation at Meta Ad Preferences, Google Ads Settings and the NAI opt-out page, and you may block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from shopping with us.
3. How we use your information
- To accept, process, deliver and provide support for your orders;
- To send you order and delivery updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp;
- To send marketing communications only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to care@safarscents.in;
- To measure and improve our website, products and advertising;
- To prevent fraud and to comply with applicable law.
4. Sharing of information
We share personal data only with: courier and logistics partners, to deliver your order; payment processors, to collect payment; the advertising and analytics partners named above, in pseudonymised or hashed form where possible; our professional advisers; and government authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
5. Data retention
Order and invoice records are retained for as long as Indian tax and company law requires. Marketing data is retained until you withdraw consent. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our analytics tools, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, or erasure of data we no longer need to retain; you may withdraw consent for marketing; you may nominate a person to exercise your rights; and you may raise a grievance about our handling of your data. Every complaint is acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt.
8. Security
We protect your data with reasonable security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable payment and hosting providers. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, so please also keep your own account credentials confidential.
9. Children
Our products and website are intended for persons aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of children.
10. International transfers
Our advertising and analytics partners, including Meta and Google, may process data on servers located outside India. Such transfers are made subject to the DPDP Act, 2023 and any transfer restrictions notified by the Central Government.
